Daughter will headline Beacons Festival 2014, held in Skipton, Yorkshire on 7th-10th August. Following the plaudits for debut album If You Leave, which was celebrated as Album of the Year at the AIM Awards last year, the trio will bring their acclaimed live show to Beacons in the summer for their first headline performance, set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales...
On the eve of Daughter’s sold-out headline show at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire, a video for their latest single ‘Amsterdam’ has been posted online.
Directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, ‘Amsterdam’ offers an intimate glimpse of the trio behind the scenes when they performed at Festival No.6, set in the picturesque coastal resort of Portmeirion, North Wales...
Last night saw Daughter walk away with the prestigious Album of the Year trophy at the 2013 AIM Awards in London.
Honouring the independent music sector and the musicians who help to make it so vibrant, the AIM Awards are now into their third year and already an important date in the diary. Daughter were also shortlisted for Best Breakthrough and Best Track ('Youth'), with David Byrne & St. Vincent, Grimes and The National also nominated.
Currently on tour in Norway, the band yesterday confirmed the support acts for the forthcoming UK and European Tours this winter...
Taken from Daughter’s stellar debut album, If You Leave, ‘Youth’ is the band’s new single.
Originally appearing on the band's self-released The Wild Youth EP (2011), 'Youth' has long been a mainstay in the band's live sets, with it's popularity having been further bolstered by a gorgeous debut TV performance on The Late Show with David Letterman and it soundtracking the ITV's Tour De France coverage. Having since been re-recorded for the album, it's now finally getting an official release as a single, coming out on 7” and download this August with a brand new track, ‘Smoke’, as it’s b-side.
Taking place this November, Daughter will follow up their largest UK tour to date with an extensive tour of Europe.
The summer is set to be just as busy for Elena, Igor and Remi as they head out on the festival circuit, beginning next week with appearances at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound and London’s Field Day festivals (at the latter Daughter will play the Laneway stage at 7.30pm). The London-based trio will also head back out to North America to open for fellow 4AD act The National in August.
