Efterklang are planning an exciting and innovative series of events in collaboration with Northern Sinfonia, orchestra of The Sage Gateshead, entitled The Piramida Concerts.
Another epic scale project from this ever resourceful and imaginative band, the concerts, and ‘Piramida’ the album, due for release on the prestigious 4AD label later this year, originated from and were informed by, a special expedition undertaken by the band in 2011, about which they have yet to share any details or information.

From October 26th the deluxe DVD of Efterklang's collaborative film with Vincent Moon, An Island, will be available to purchase from www.anisland.cc. Whilst An Island will be stocked in very limited quantities at a few select independent music retailers it will only be available to buy online from www.anisland.cc.
The deluxe package is limited to 5,000 custom-made, eco-friendly, numbered, letterpress printed deluxe covers with a DVD disc full of bonus material and a 35 page booklet with photos and liner notes written by the band. The impressive artwork was conceived in collaboration between Danish design studio Hvass&Hannibal, German photographer Antje Taiga Jandrig and specialist printshop Stumptown Printers from Portland, Oregon.

Efterklang’s third full-length album, Magic Chairs, has won the first IMPALA European Independent Album of the Year Award from a shortlist of 21 albums from across Europe.
