An expanded edition of The National’s hugely successful fifth studio album, High Violet, was released on the same day as the 7" single, 'Terrible Love (Alternate Version)'.
As a different version, 'Terrible Love (Alternate Version)' is far closer to the way the song had evolved and sounded when performed live throughout the summer of 2010. It, and B-side 'You Were A Kindness', were both included on the bonus disc of the expanded version of the album.
