4AD welcomes Australian resident Oliver Hugh Perry, creatively known as D.D Dumbo.
Hailing from Castlemaine, a small township deep inside the Victorian bush, D.D. Dumbo’s reverb-soaked songs erupt in thunderous rhythm and euphoric drone. Minimal in structure and complemented by Perry’s astonishing voice, they subtly reference traditional stylings from around the globe such as African desert blues, Tanzanian ilimba and transcendental Tuvan melody.
D.D Dumbo will play in the UK for the first time this July, performing alongside Daughter and Tame Impala. He kicks off his visit with a debut headline show in London, finishing up at Latitude Festival on July 20th.
Watch D.D Dumbo perform his recent single ‘Tropical Oceans’ in a forest here or in the player below.
