The twelve songs explore bandleader Merrill Garbus’ place in the world, and ruminate on race, politics, intersectional feminism and environmental prophecies.  The New York Times calls the album “a sleek, radical evolution full of insistent beats, catchy hooks and pointed questions about modern society.”  You can read their feature on the record here.  Rolling Stone’s 4 star review says it’s “an LP determined to conjure kinetic joy while staring down our present cultural fright show,” and TIME praises that “Tune-Yards proves that dance music can still have teeth."

This afternoon, NPR’s All Things Considered will air their profile on Garbus.  Next week, the band will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, 22nd January and on Conan on Tuesday, 23rd January.

I can feel you creep into my private life is the fourth studio album from Tune-Yards, now a fully collaborative effort between Garbus and Nate Brenner who co-wrote and co-produced the album.  Garbus' lyrics explore her place in the world, and ruminating on race, politics, intersectional feminism and environmental prophecies. Tune-Yards worked with a mixer Mikaelin 'Blue' Bluespruce (Solange, Skepta, Blood Orange).  Much of the album was recorded at John Vanderslice’s new studio, Tiny Telephone Oakland, in Oakland, CA and mastered in Harlem, NY by Dave Kutch (Jay-Z, Chance the Rapper).
