Tune-Yards - tUnE-yArDs Shares Video For 'Rocking Chair'
Tune-Yards : tUnE-yArDs Shares Video For 'Rocking Chair'
6th August 2015

tUnE-yArDs has aired the video for the protest lullaby 'Rocking Chair', featuring Sam Amidon, a track from her latest album Nikki Nack.

You can watch the animated video via the official tUnE-yArDs YouTube channel here, or in the player below.

The video was created by visual artist and previous tUnE-yArDs collaborator Sarah Pupo. Sarah described the inspiration behind the video: “This beat and feeling of being held and grieving are what I tried to capture in the animation through both abstract and figurative imagery. Stop motion animation techniques allowed me to improvise a mish-mash of cut paper symbols, patterns, shapes and characters in different layers and combinations. And, because I was working from Merrill’s music, I couldn’t help but integrate lots of vivid colour and rich dissonance. It was a great pleasure to make."

On Saturday, 8th August, tUnE-yArDs will headline a free show for the closing night of Celebrate Brooklyn in Prospect Park. She will finish out the summer with additional US dates including performances at the Gentlemen of The Road Stopover shows. Click here for a full tour schedule, or see below.
