Having recently announced a return to Los Angeles to play two special shows with special guest and long-standing friend Jon Hopkins later this month (Henry Fonda Theatre on August 27 and 28), we're excited to announce that at each performance, the two artists will give away 175 copies of a very limited edition 12” vinyl single.
The record will contain the previously aired Jon Hopkins remix of Purity Ring’s song 'Amenamy' (taken from their debut album, Shrines, and streaming below) and a new version of Jon Hopkins’ 'Breathe This Air' that features Megan on vocals and was premiered last night by Huw Stephens standing in for Zane Lowe on his BBC Radio 1 show.
The 12”s will be distributed at the show on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The new video for 'Magic Kids', a single taken from Indians' recent debut album Somewhere Else, has been posted online today by music site The Line of Best Fit.
The video was directed by Miles Langley and filmed in London, 'Magic Kids' is a key track for Copenhagen artist, Søren Løkke Juul; "It's the first thing I wrote as Indians and is a very special song for me. About loss, hope and frustration, I think these emotions and feelings were captured really well by the guys. It was a great process working with them and I hope you enjoy it."
Also appearing online today is a free download of a remix of the track...
Though various live releases emerged over the course of the band's existence, no full-length capturing of The Birthday Party was approved by the band themselves until Live 81-82 was first released back in 1999, nearly 20 years on from when the recordings took place.
An essential record, Live 81-82 stiches together tracks from a London date in 1981, a German show in Bremen in 1982 and a ringer cut from a show in Athens, Greece (a version of the Stooges' 'Funhouse' with Jim Thirwell aka. Foetus on sax).
Until now Live 81-82 has never been pressed on vinyl. Finally coming out on July 29th...
Taken from Daughter’s stellar debut album, If You Leave, ‘Youth’ is the band’s new single.
Originally appearing on the band's self-released The Wild Youth EP (2011), 'Youth' has long been a mainstay in the band's live sets, with it's popularity having been further bolstered by a gorgeous debut TV performance on The Late Show with David Letterman and it soundtracking the ITV's Tour De France coverage. Having since been re-recorded for the album, it's now finally getting an official release as a single, coming out on 7” and download this August with a brand new track, ‘Smoke’, as it’s b-side.
