Mistaken For Strangers, a film following The National touring around the release of their critically acclaimed record High Violet will see its theatrical premiere on 25th March 2014 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Having opened the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival, it was shot by Tom Berninger, younger brother of lead singer Matt, who joined the Dessner and Devendorf brothers as The National embarked on the biggest tour of their career at that point.  Swifty ignoring his roadie duties, Tom soon began to make an unsanctioned film about the band. His camera captures his journey as he finds himself living in Matt's shadow and acting out- drinking, complaining, and struggling to balance his ambition with his responsibilities.

Both surprising and incredibly intimate, Mistaken For Strangers delves into the joys and struggles of brotherhood. Described by Pitchfork as "the funniest, most meta music movie since Spinal Tap", the gala event in March will also be celebrated with a full performance from The National.
